FROM MADRID TO HEAVEN

Many of you - our La Latina students - have thought about travelling to Spain. Some of our students would love to go on Erasmus to Madrid, the capital of Spain.

Madrid is one of the most popular Erasmus destinations. Here are the reasons: weather, night life, lively neighbourhoods, and amazing parties which will exceed your expectations. When planning your Erasmus in Madrid, the first thing to do is choosing your accommodation. Arriving to Madrid (especially as a student), you should choose a place to stay. It can be a temporary accommodation. Later, you can find a long – term accommodation, or another place to live.

Renting an apartment, a studio flat or a room in a student residence are the best options for you. Moreover, these kinds of accommodation will help you to reduce stress that you might experience during the first days in a new country.

So, your accommodation resolved. What’s next? You would need to go through all the paperwork at your university. Once done, you can fully focus on making new friends.

Your Erasmus friends will be your second family – the ‘Erasmus’ family – and will stay in your heart forever.

Spending time with your Erasmus friends, living with them, having new and funny experience together – these are things that unite you and strengthen the friendship. Moreover, you live in a new environment, in another country, and there are so many things to do! Friendship goes hand-in-hand with having fun.

Madrid is a big city. According to some statistics, the population of Madrid is around 5 – 6 million, including the metropolitan area.

Would you like to walk the Gran Vía street or visit the ancient Egyptian temple Templo de Debod? Or do you prefer sunbathing at Plaza de España, visiting Plaza Mayor or having a walk in the park El Parque de El Retiro?
